Getting Started!

Well I guess that if you’ve clicked on this page, you’re looking for a few details about me. Either that or you’re completely bored and have nothing better to do.

I was born in July of 1980 in Newport Beach, California.  I’m an only-child and have always wondered what it would have been like if I had brothers or sisters? From what many friends have told me that have siblings… they wished that sometimes they were the only kid.  In my younger years, I was always around the beach as my dad loves to surf and my mom loves the beach too. Growing up I was able to be around all four of my grandparents and that only changed quite recently.  It’s interesting learning about the family history and being able to keep the stories alive.  In my elementary school years I loved to Fullerton, California.

Elementary and High School Years

I was the kid in elementary school who was always doing something.  I guess I got bored easily.  I would probably say that I was a teacher’s pet because I was always helping decorate the bulletin boards, helping teachers grade papers and things like that. I was the kid who performed in the school plays, sung in the choir, but at the same time, I was the first one out the door to recess and the last one to come in… go figure.

My high school years were just as packed in.  I knew everyone and everyone knew me.  I was in student government all four years, including ASB President my senior year.  I was also in Chamber Choir and Choir Vice-President sometime, probably my senior year.  I was in newspaper and yearbook and was the editor for both at some point.  I think I had more extra-curricular things going on than curricular.  I always had something going on. I look back in the yearbook now and the only thing that I didn’t do was sports and that’s because the basics we had didn’t interest me.

Here and Now

Bringing you up to speed… All about me now.  I love to travel.  Random trips to wherever.  I try to get out of town at least once-a-month. Cities like New York, San Francisco and Seattle to name a few.  Earlier this year I spent some time in London, bringing my European destinations to Dublin, London and Paris.

Presently, I’m a graphic specialist for a library in Orange County and a freelance graphic designer.  Soon, you’ll be able to check out my portfolio to see some examples of my work for clients including Amtrak.

I’m a big fan of the outdoors.  Cycling.  Hiking.  You name it.  I’m working on becoming more sporty and have a goal of doing a triathlon in the future. I’m also interested in learning how to scuba dive (at some point). I’m learning to become a better photographer. I’m right at home in the kitchen and have learned that most recipes are just meant as suggestions and that a little altering here and there makes things even better. I have an interest in transportation, especially trains and aviation. The interest started when I was younger and grown from there.

So there you have it, a few details here and there about me.  What’s next? Here’s some of my present goals:

• Hitting the gym on a more regular basis
• Cycling as much as I can
• Completing the first part of my degree
