So I will be the first person to say that it has been a while since I’ve posted anything to my blog. I’m going to make a strong attempt to get back into the swing of things and start posting things here and there about this and that. How does that sound? Anyway… I was thinking earlier today that it’s time to check in on how I’m doing with my goals for 2010.
2010 marked my 30th birthday in July and according to my dentist, “You have to do something memorable for each of your decade years.” So at the beginning of the year, here’s what I said my goals would be (and how I’m doing with that goal):
Start hitting the gym on a more regular basis. Haven’t been doing so great with this one, but I will say that I’ve hit the gym more during 2010 than I have in past years, so baby steps.
Go somewhere international. Did that, started the year off by going to Dublin, Ireland and Paris, France.
Make this year the best year of my life thus far. Well, this year has turned to be a bit more challenging than I would have expected. It hasn’t been the best year, but also, it hasn’t been the worst. Plus, the year isn’t over yet.
Purchase a bike and start cycling again. Have the bike, just haven’t started cycling again. Yet.
Complete the first part of my degree. Almost there. Will stretch this one out until next Spring, but I’ll still be 30, so it sorta counts right?
Launch my website. I’m getting there… well, I’m about half way there.
Learn how to scuba dive. Working on it right now actually and if everything goes to plan, I will have basic certification in December.
Visit at least three cities in the United States that I’ve never been to before. Almost there with this one too. It was Charlotte, North Carolina in March; Denver, Colorado in September and I’ll be off to Miami, Florida here at the end of the week.
Green means I’ve achieved (or will soon) this goal; teal means I’ve attempted, but haven’t done as good as I should have and red means I haven’t achieved this goal at all. Well, it looks like I’ve done okay with my goals, but not great.
Well there you have it, a quick little update from me and how I’ve done this year so far.
